Recently I was accused by a member of being a dinosaur, something which I consider to be a bit of an honor.

With that in mind, and with this quote taken from the Mariners website :

"Can I get printed tickets?
Similar to other venues, T-Mobile Park is moving to a 100% mobile ticket delivery this season. Digital tickets are the safest method of ticket distribution to help reduce the risk of counterfeit, stolen or lost tickets. Please make sure you download and transfer individual tickets to each member of your party via mobile smartphone, prior to arriving at the ballpark.

Tickets for games at T-Mobile Park will be available through the MLB Ballpark app or the Ticketmaster app. Both are available in Google Play and the Apple App Store."

I present to you all this beauty from Thursday night's game where Tyler Locklear hit his first career HR.

The first of his 763 career home runs, I'll let it go for $76,300. Plenty of room for a tidy profit.

This game 5 full 1971 World Series ticket brings me to five of the necessary seven fulls needed to complete a run of all tickets. If you happen to have or know of the location of an available full ticket to games 1, or 4 please let me know.

I realized today that the stub stapled to a program for a meaningless Yankees game in 1960 where nothing much happened was from a different game.

In that game Mantle hit HR #35 of the season (#315 career) and Yogi hit HR #15 (#318 career) as the Yankees beat the Orioles.

Default I couldn't find a post on this...

a couple months old, but the seller must have a cardiac arrest when he saw the price this one landed at... Good thing for him more than one bidder figured out the significance of this game.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/285849924651

Any idea if this price is good/bad/fair?

I had heard rumors that a number of bidders were shut out by a bidding limit imposed on them by eBay. They were unaware of the 10k limit and due to this their bids were not accepted. Since they were unaware until the bidding closed they could not take the steps necessary to address the limit with eBay before the auction closed. I think this seller got destroyed in this sale. In 2021 a Mantle Debut sold for $141,395. A Jackie Robins Debut sold for $300,000 last year and earlier this year a Clemente Debut went for $121,334. I gotta believe a Koufax debut is worth much more than the $10,888 this one sold for on eBay.

A sad day for Calvin Hill, Brian Dowling and the Bulldogs.

A game that will live in infamy in the Ivy League annals.

I've been buying mixed paper lots for resale and a fair number of tickets have turned up.

I found one recently that was really interesting (to me, anyway), from the 9/24/32 Motion Picture Electrical Parade & Sports Pageant at the Olympic Stadium (as the Los Angeles Coliseum was once known). It was some sort of charity event but I haven't found anything about it.

I also found a 1932 Olympics Track and Field ticket from August 1, where Eddie Tolan and Ralph Metcalfe both tied the 100-meter world record in the final.

I even found some movie prop tickets, in a box with $40,000 in movie prop money. My heart skipped a beat until I took a closer look and realized that Albert Einstein is not on the $100 bill

Edit: I'm told this didn't include the game ticket just the ride. Is that true? 25 cents seems like a steep price for just the ride. Would appreciate some historical knowledge 👍.

I got this sunday double header game ticket that included Car/bus transportation for sept 13th 1942. That day the St Louis Browns vs Athletics ended in a 2-0 Browns victory.
Knowing how sparsely attended Browns games were and then on top of that being in the middle of ww2 against the terrible 55-99 athletics I just had to get it, Super cool history.

Sept 13th is also the date Germany would begin it's "House to house" ground assault on Stalingrad. The deadliest battle in human history.

I have no particular knowledge, but would be pretty sure this did not include a ticket as it says nothing about that.

Working on a complete home run collection for Sadaharu Oh. Currently at 90 regular season HRs.....so 10% done?
Here's my latest find - #715, passing Babe Ruth.
Related question - is this something that PSA would charge a surcharge for grading?

U.S. wins the gold medal in basketball 1960 Olympics. This is from the gold medal game. Most of the tickets signed by West et al. are non-U.S. games. Purchased this with the visible tear, but archivally repaired it from the back

Cassius Clay wins his quarterfinal match against Gennady Shaktov of the Soviet Union. The source of all of the unused Clay tickets is a friend in Italy. I got this in a trade for much less than it would sell on the open market.

U.S. wins the gold medal in basketball 1968 Olympics. Two different levels of tickets for the gold medal game. Signed by Spencer Haywood and Charlie Scott.

Default Alex Miles Main 1915 Federal League no-hitter ticket

I'm really happy to have added this super challenging 1915 Buffalo Blues Federal League full ticket to my advanced no-hit ticket collection.
It could have been used to any game in the 1915 season including the no-hitter that Alex Miles Main tossed against the Buffalo Blues on August 16th, 1915.

Miles Main was a RHP for the Federal League KC Packers team and he no-hit the Blues 6-0. He struck out 7 and only had 1 BB.
Main was a tall guy for the era: 6'5" and 195, an imposing looking pitcher for the early part of the 20th century.
He pitched for only a total of 3 years with the Detroit Tigers, Fed KC Packers and Pittsburgh Pirates in 1914, 1915 and 1918, respectively.
He won 21 total games and had a respectable 2.77 career ERA.

Here is a picture of the full ticket, a scarce signed index card and a game used win ball which I found about 10 years ago that was from one of the two wins that he had with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1918. He gifted it to a close friend in Tawas City, MI. Miles was a career resident of Michigan.

A few years ago I purchased a group of old ticket stubs Ebay pickup cheap. When I researched them I found one to be from a Bill Monbouquette no-hitter August 1 1962. So for fun I sent it in for grading.

All of the gold medal matches at the 1984 Olympics. The U.S. wins 6 gold medals including future world champs Mark Breland, Meldrick Taylor and Pernell Whitaker.

Evander Holyfield is disqualified for a late hit against Kevin Barry in their semifinal match. Holyfield knocked out Barry so he was not able to compete for the gold medal per amateur boxing rules.

Joan Benoit wins the first women's Olympic marathon. The silver medalist was Greta Waitz, nine time New York Marathon winner. The bronze medalist was Rosa Mota who would win the gold medal 4 years later in Seoul.

Lennox Lewis wins a gold medal defeating Riddick Bowe. Roy Jones wins a silver medal in a very controversial loss to Park Si-Heon. This ticket is for the second day of gold medal matches in boxing. In Seoul they alternated the weight class finals. Half on October 1 the other half on the 2nd. A tombed signed ticket from Jones' third round match in currently on ebay for over $1100!!

There's some amazing pickups in this thread. The

I managed to pick up the final ticket in my 1930 - 1980 World Series run. I was chasing at least 1 ticket from every world series between those dates.

That’s an awesome accomplishment and collection. How long did it take you to complete? Do you have them displayed at your home or catalogued in a particular way? Would love to see more of the lot if possible.

Thanks Nick. It's taken me about 4 1/2 years. According to my handy inventory spreadsheet, I bought my first World Series ticket in May 2020. Most of them were in hand by the end of 2023 but it took me over a year more to find the 1932 World Series ticket at a reasonable price. I think the prices of the 1932 tickets have been skewed by Ruth's called shot in Game 3.

I don't have them displayed, though I probably need to find way to do that.

Here's photos of all the tickets

That is a beautiful collection. Something certainly to be proud of. Love that you stuck with it and chipped away at your goal over 4 and a 1/2 years.

Congrats! Quite an amazing feat! I probably would have taken at least 3 times as long as you did due to cost AND my "condition snobbery," which of course are 2 things that are usually difficult to reconcile!
