2024 Pick-Up Thread
Apologies if I missed a February thread, but here's one for the rest of the year if nothing already exists.
I have wanted this card for a loooong, long time. It went missing with USPS for three months but thankfully it eventually showed up!

That's a really cool one!
Let's hope Big Tork has a breakout year and we start at least a little turnaround going for the boys. They have at least been spending some of that Miggy money (let's hope we have a 3rd base option coming). As the Tigs are the one and only MLB team I always grab RCs for it's been tough. I am current sitting on a waaaaaay too big stack of 2020 psa 10 Torkelson chrome rookies that I am losing my rear on, lol.

This would've been a 'grail' had I known it existed until a few days ago. The first copy I've ever seen. I'm sure someone in 1992 was very disappointed with their 1992 ToppsGold set.

Card on the left arrived today, it joins the card on the right. True childhood grail card. The internet has made collecting so much easier! Thanks to Net54 member Mike McGrail.

Another Frank Howard card to add to my collection.
#1 of 249. Not his greatest signature, but don't care! Cheers. Butch

Bought an unopened wax box of 1982 Topps a couple months ago and sent a few off to PSA to get graded. Got lucky to get four PSA 10 back from the box!

Thank you!
For sure! I've bought a few 81, 82, 85 Topps boxes over the last year when I can find them cheap enough and then sent the nice looking star cards to PSA. This is the 1st time I've gotten a single PSA 10 back...let alone four. Mostly get 8's and 9's. The grader must have been in a good mood. |

A Yellow Ray Wave #/d to 250 and a Gold Refractor #/d 50. Quickly becoming one of my favorite modern issues from this decade; 2022 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary.
The 1953 tribute is so cool. RayB

Just popped at PSA. These were a crossover from the "USA Grading" slabs they were released in packs in.
A fun oddball of a guy who will hit the Hall of Fame ballot this year. These are both now PSA total pop 1. The Black parallel is numbered out of 50.

Picked up last week! My unicorn...however 9 were sold last week by the same guy. HOWEVER...they were all PSA graded and the numbers match with the pictures at PSA. See my thread I just started in this forum.

Figured I better post this pick up before they get to the new owner.
I picked up this cool print dot in the box card. The other card has the black printed way lighter than normal on the front and also has a slight upward print offset on the back. |

I have owned several over the years. I still have a couple with a print dot right on the left edge of the box. Us Ripken collectors are a little out there and they usually sell for a good premium.

I travel a lot for work and have been hitting local shops, picking up a blaster here or there of the new stuff and collect the base sets like I did as kid. This week I was in Wichita KS, picked up a Bowman blaster...and actually hit something hot. I was shocked!

Got an SGC sub back yesterday. Just my 2nd submission to grading ever. Thought this would be a 9 or 9.5, but I'm glad I was wrong. Probable HOFer here. So will probably keep in case he makes it.

Not baseball but I am so beyond happy to finally get this set. I have been looking hard for over 2 years for them and have openly offered up to $200 for them.
Today I finally got this 2021 Shaw Classic Strongman set in the mail. I now have all 4 sets from 2021 to this years 2024 set. |

A giant hole in the collection filled with the recent pick up of the 1999 Aurora Red. Ive had alerts/searches out since the product released (7-11 packs only).
This turns up just a few months after finally landing the Aurora Opening Day.

They returned finally! The DS PSA 6 I think might have wax on the front. But it's a beauty! And the Larkin 1/1 had surface scratches which I knew about before submitting.

A 1988 Pacific Trading Cards Company autographed card of Frank Howard with a ticket stub from his first multi game home run event. Home runs #10-11 off of Lew Burdette and Don McMahon of the Braves. The Dodgers went on to win the game 6 - 3. Thankfully Hank Aaron did not hit one too. Thus making this ticket stub very affordable.
Cheers. B.T.

Certainly didn't break the bank (cost less than a fast food value meal) but a cool card of a Negro League star and MLB Hall of Famer. Total PSA pop is only 11 with 1 higher.
