Default Oddball Illinois / Illini Set - Does anyone know what these are?

Recently purchased a large random lot and it had an large lot of these. I am thinking they are 1990 Give-Aways, but really not sure beyond that.

It is pretty neat as there's a stack of College HOF Coach Augie Garrido, who I do not think has much outside of 2007 A&G.

Is anyone familiar with this Issue/Release/Give-Away by chance? Any help would be appreciated!

I checked the Beckett OPG and the COMC Data Base and saw no mention of these cards in either location. (I would have loved to have catalogued that back in the Beckett days and would love to see them come into COMC today)

So they are new to the hobby so to speak but,,,, how much interest there is will help determine any value

Well that's neat! I'm not anticipating tons of interest nor value, but DEFINITELY cool to "find" what is potentially a (College) Hall of Fame Rookie Card!

I guess I'll just refer to them as "1990 Illini Baseball Team Issue" or something! Thanks for the help!

I have some from 1991. When I lived in Illinois, they were usually available at the local Taco Bell. They would have a few different cards every week just sitting on the counter for people to take. I remember seeing them for a few years before we moved to Wisconsin but have only found cards from the one year in my collection.

That makes a tons of sense - This collection seems to have 1 of some guys and 50+ of some others; I could totally see a kid just grabbing whatever they could while grabbing a Taco.

Default And now speaking as a COMC employee

I would, in all seriousness, send at least one of each to COMC. Not all of them but that way you do have a wide reach of people who follow the site and would probably be very happy to add items to their collection that way.

Anything NOT on the site is worth sending in a copy of each of the 1990 and for the person who had them the 1991 cards
