Rest in peace bobby the brain Heenan. I don't know how many wrestling fans there are here but the legendarymanager and-announcer, as well as ambassador to pro wrestling died after a long fight with cancer today at age 73. God bless Bobby. We all miss you so much

Default Memories of "The Brain"

Probably 45 years ago, he was part of the action in Chicago that was promoted by Bob Luce. Chuck Marlow, (who I think went on to a long career broadcasting University of Indiana basketball - might have been another sport) was just starting his career and doing matches and interviews during a half-hour Sunday morning telecast. One particular day, Marlow is standing in front of a row of lockers, and suddenly, there is noise coming from the one behind him. It's Heenan, who stumbles and almost falls coming out of the locker to "surprise" Marlow who's busy doing a promo for an upcoming card. Having almost fallen, Heenan looks down, looks up at Marlow and says with a straight face, "I tripped on one of your wine bottles!" I don't know if was ad libbed or planned that way, but I couldn't stop laughing. Hell, I laugh now just thinking about it. He and the rest of the "Heels" were what made wrestling fun. RIP Brain.
