Default Trivia for Old Folks

Who led their team in striking out as a batter when his team became the last team to strike out fewer than 500 times in a season?

Dwight Evans ? played on the same team with Mike Greenwell and Wade Boggs ,
If someone guesses this without looking it up I’ll be shocked

If you look it up, tell us where you found it or how many hours you spent on Baseball Reference.

Dwight Evans is an incorrect guess.

I apologize, 1981 should have been been excluded from this question.

LOL, I don't think Frank meant anything by it.

I looked it up....I think??

Took about 10 minutes scrolling through Baseball Reference using context clues.

If somebody guesses it, I will give them a nice big virtual pat on the back, whether I believe them or not.

Since you titled it 'Trivia for Old Folks' (and, by the way, I'm not yet offended by that), I'll go further back than the others and say Nicholson of the White Sox.

no research done...just a wild guess.
