Default JUST FOR FUN: Which MLB Player was born closest to your birthday?

Using BaseballResearch.Com,

I found that Jim Tracy (DOB: 12/31/55) was born closest to me (01/06/56)

just another useless waste of time? Or more fanatical research?

Steve, just ask "What baseball player was born on your birthday"on Google. It will bring up a link to Baseball Almanac which lists all the players born in your birth year.

I was born April 15, 1965, closest MLB players are Craig Worthington April 17, 1965 and Jeff DeWillis April 13, 1965.

Former NHL star Kevin Stevens was born the same day as me.

Orioles(yeah!) pitcher Jeff Schneider and Twins/Padres utility infielder Chuck Baker were born the day after I was.

Astros/Giants 2nd baseman Rob Andrews, with whom I share a name, was born six days after me.

Edited to add...a bit of research on BR's sister sites told me that not a single player in MLB, NBA, NFL, or NFL history was born on the same day as I was. But Shoelass Joe died exactly a year before I was born.

Steve- someone already gave you one option, but that will only tell you who was born on the same Date of any year.

On BaseballResearch.Com, click on the link 'Happy Birthday/Born on this Day' - then plug your date in the search and, if nobody was born that day (the results show the year each player was born), search the day before and the day after and so on.

Kind of fun, I thought.

If I have to amend birth year, Jake Arrieta was born 3 days before me. However closest to my birthdate is Jeremy Hefner, whom I've never heard of, was born two days after I was. I'm going to play Price Is Right rules.

James "Buster" Douglas, onetime undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World, was born on the very same day that I was born. April 7, 1960. He upset Mike Tyson in Tokyo. Don't know if he could swing a bat though....
