Happy Birthday Conrado "Connie" Marrero
Connie Marrero turned 102 years old yesterday.
He is the oldest living former Major League player. He live in Cuba. My favorite card of him is the 1953 Briggs Wiener card. Baseball-Reference.com lists his birthday as April 25, 1911 but check out his birthday on the Briggs card. |

And I believe second oldest ever. Only Chet Hoff lived longer.

I think 4 or 5 years ago he was still in pretty good shape. Hope that is still true. He was a damn good pitcher, but didn't get a shot at the majors until he was 38. 39-40 record not bad with those awful Senator teams.
