Watching the Reds as a kid in the late 60's and into the Big Red Machine days of 75 to 76 was a gift. As a yankee fan 76 was tough, there were no holes in that Reds lineup.

Got to meet him many times. Nobody knew the entirety of the game better; perhaps Don Zimmer was right there with him.

As a kid, I'll never forget his tremendous hustle, and how he sprinted to first base like a jackrabbit after drawing a walk. Huge loss for baseball, and very sad he never lived to see induction into the HOF.
