Default Marker choice for MLB base

Hi, does anyone have a preference for the type of marker, and size, for getting a base signed? Thanks in advance.

personally, I would use a FAT, permanent Magic Marker. I say fat because of the large surface area and the ease in signing one. Plus, it will stand out.

just my two cents.

I have used a big tip black Sharpie. But remember a black marker over time can have a "yellowing" occur around it. This does not happen all the time but has occurred on a couple of items. I have found if the base is new or not game used I clean the base before the signing with a DRY towel and minimize touching the base this does help. If it is a game used base then don't clean it per se, but remember if you have them sign a "dirty " part the signature may not be clear and may rub off slightly over time.
A blue sharpie has not yellowed on me , but the same protocol for the base should be used.
Others may have better advice on this topic, but this is my opinion based upon my experience with my signed bases in my collection.

Never thought of the blue sharpie... Thanks to everyone for their input.

If we're talking about a game-used base, I wouldn't get it signed at all. I feel it would compromise the "integrity" of the base, in the sense that the base was unsigned when it was used during the game.
