Default How did this t206 get a "Mint"?

Front is not centered and color registration a bit off. Back is very badly off-center. This all allowed for Mint? UPDATE: Yeah, sorry, I thought labeled mint but indeed nm/mt, sorry.

65/35 or better on the front, 90/10 or better on the back. Looks good to me!

I'm not always the biggest fan of SGC, but I must admit, this card looks pretty amazing to me, especially the front and the corners. The centering on the back perhaps kept it from an even higher grade than 88. The corners look razor sharp to me. What amazes me is the price this guy wants for it. It is been up and down on Ebay for well over a year now....

Wow.... Razor sharp corners - I agree that the back is the only thing keeping from a higher grade

It's not MINT. It's NM/MT and certainly fits their grading standards for an 8. Look it up, it's on their website.

Default my opinion

I agree with the masses...looks to be graded spot on! NM/MT cards can be somewhat off center...which seems deceiving. If you look at modern cards, some are nastily off centered and receive the same grade...all seems to be in line with the grade. Powers is on fire too!

Yeah, sorry, at a glance I thought it was labeled "Mint", my mistake.

After this thread I took a look on Ebay, and sure enough all 4 T206s are listed again. These prices are not only high, but they make absolutely no sense whatsoever. A PSA 7.5 Chance for $15K, an SGC 96 Southern Leaguer for $25K, and last but not least, an SGC 80 Southern Leaguer for a miniscule $10K! What in the hell is this guy thinking?

Default Asking

If he has a best offer option then I get it. We always have the option to not bid. Similar to the folks who like to make lowball offers, what the hell are they thinking is what I feel as a seller but I asked for it buy advertising best offer.

I think you're right Peter. Good eye. The corners, particularly the top two seem to come to points of less than 90 degrees (sharper than 90 degrees). sometimes indicative of a trim job, but not necessarily. I need to look at the edges for a pattern in the cut, but even thaat isn't foolproof. Dave

It's a great looking card, but not worth the asking price. I think SGC is on the money with the grade.

He's hoping that someone with more money than brains drops by.

Personally I don't care for all of the really high grade 100 yr old cards in the hobby. I am led to believe many are tainted. That notwithstanding the card in the original post is graded correctly. As for the bat ears, I don't know. I am just glad I don't collect the uber-high grades.

My guess is to yield higher eBay search traffic.
