Default Willie Mays collusion scandal

I've recently acquired 1952, 1954 and 1955 Red Man cards of Willie Mays and noticed the pictures of the Say Hey Kid look identical to the ones Topps used for Mays from 1954 to 1956. And I've always thought the Topps pics looked like the one Bowman used on its 1954 Mays card. I'm guessing they all used the same team-issued publicity shot -- but I'm sure someone in this community has a more definitive answer.

I don't have an answer, but those that's a nice group of cards and it's cool seeing them all spread out together. Also an astute observation on the '54 Bowman being the same shot -- I never noticed that.

Probably because it's the only shot they could find of Mays actually smiling.
