Thanks, I have added him to the list. You have provided the only two new additions.....and, here we are
at 50 posts.
We have a long way to go to confirm what is theoretically 110 possible subjects with Red HINDU backs.....
but, I do not think all these 110 were printed with the Red HINDU brand.

EDITED.....to state that the McGraw (port-cap) in the 460-only Series has been confirmed with the LENOX
back. Which raises doubts about the Red HINDU card of him ?

Red HINDU and LENOX are mutually exclusive in the 460-only Series. This is explained in my new Thread
on Red HINDU cards.

I fully appreciate what you are saying about Gandil. This card is in the 460-only Series. And, there
are some more like your Gandil in this series. For instance Smith (Chi & Bos), here are 8 backs I've
found of him. I was able to find the tougher T-brands on this card before I found a Piedmont 460
of him for my Piedmont set.

There are about 4 more T-brands, this card was printed on. And, I wonder if we will find this Smith
with a Red HINDU ?

I think you mean Bender (No Trees).

Bender (Trees) is 350-only.

Our best red hindu is Kleinow Boston (SGC 60 / 5). We also have the devore in a one (currently offered for sale and already posted here previously) and a likely trimmed common -- can't remember the player right now.

Final go around on searching out the T206 Red HINDU backs.

We have only confirmed 44 out of a possible 110 subjects.

Can we show or tell anymore than 44 ? ?

Hi Ted,
A lot of these Red Hindu's came from this lot from Mastro 1996:

Be well Brian

Be sure and add Kleinow to the known list, as it's in this auction and I have seen this card. I think I have a scan...in a psa 4 holder?

I will upgrade the list an add Kleinow (Bos) to it.

Kleinow contradicts the "LENOX - Red HINDU mutual exclusivity" rule for cards in the 460-only Series.
Have you read my other Red HINDU thread regarding this "rule" ?

I'm beginning to think Scot Reader's original classification of this Kleinow (and, also Smith - Chi & Bos)
belonging in the 350/460 Series is possibly more accurate.

Gee, these 2 subjects are a mystery. Do you know if Smith exists with both LENOX & Red HINDU backs ?

is SGC that much tuffer, that it would grade one notch lower with them?

Mike,

IMO, SGC can at times grade a bit tougher than PSA. I have had cards that look the same condition as your Red Hindu that got the grade of SGC 30.

Best,

I'm far from the best person to talk about differences in Graded cards. But, my observation is that SGC graded
cards are more strictly graded than PSA. In fact, I would say GAI cards are more strictly graded than PSA.

i agree that SGC can be tuffer at times, but i also have seen plenty of undergraded PSA cards too.

i don't mean to hijack the thread, but is there a ratio of brown hindu to red hindu backs? how scarce are the brown hindus of any given player? is it more pronounced with southern leaguers (comparatively)?

David,

If by "ratio of brown to red" you are talking about relative back scarcity, my survey data show that ratio is about 10:1, that is, red is roughly 10X scarcer than brown.

more T206 Red Hindu's :
Pfeister batting
ok , thats it, I've checked exhaustively through my old checklists
but that is the only player unlisted above. The only one I currently
own is a Red Hindu Johnny Evers. Wheat (HOF) seems to have the most
existing examples. Distribution? reasonable to asume a Louisiana issue,
possible distribution in Tennessee.

Incidently, I think you meant "throwing" on the Pfeister card.
