The sign was in the same style as the broadsides, right, just a different, more vertical, shape? My friend Ted Patterson had one.

No, the signs were the same image as the the image on the box in the images I posted above.

I'm just trying to get a fix on the known universe of Tuxedo pieces, excluding the magazine ads. Here's what I think is out there, please correct:
1) Boxes: Matty and Gowdy
2) Horizontal broadsides: Matty, Walter, McGraw.
3) Vertical signs: Gowdy.

The only change that I would add is to the vertical sign is that there is a Christy Mathewson as well.

Thanks. It seems to me likely that they made boxes with Walter and maybe McGraw, too, but none have surfaced. What's your guess?

And here's some odd trivia about these four subjects: three of them: Johnson, Gowdy, and McGraw, were in the 1924 World Series many years later, and Matty was in the press box covering the series for a syndicate.

Default Finally complete!

Hi all, I've looked on with admiration at the rooms on this post over the last number of years. While my collection pales in comparison to the quality I've seen out of many of our members, I've been able to finally at least move mine out of spare rooms and storage closets. I completed the renovation of the shed behind our house this weekend, which was a major project as my brother and I did all the flooring, ceiling, and woodwork ourselves. While I've barely had a chance to get much on the shelves, I look forward to many years of filling it up!
