Rank your favorite 70s players to collect
Who doesn’t like a good ranking? There is no wrong answer here, it is solely your own personal collecting desire regardless of reason. Personally, my desire has changed over the years, mostly because of card design and image selection and some of it is because the legacy of certain players seem to stand the test of time more than others. Here is where my top 5 stands today, it will be cool to look back at this in 10 years and see if it changes again. Will also do this for 80s and 90s players in the other room.
1. Pete Rose 2. Nolan Ryan 3. Thurman Munson 4. Rod Carew 5. Reggie Jackson Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Morgan Carew Palmer Schmidt Incredible how cheap it is to collect those guys in the '70s, relative to how great they were (except Schmidt's rookie of course) |

I like unique/oddball stuff, so when it comes to 70s players, these three top the list in general.
Garvey Carew Oliver Beyond that, they all kind of blend together for me. Lots of good players, but nobody that I really want above and beyond anyone else.

Pitchers whose names are not Nolan Ryan always seem to be criminally undervalued in the early 70's. Carlton, Perry, Jenkins, Gibson, Marichal. And Tom Seaver, who was perhaps the best of them all. All of their regular Topps issues after their rookies can pretty much be had for a song in decent shape - at least in comparison with Ryan.

Nobody mentioned Dave Parker? IMHO the best all-around player in baseball for the second half of the decade, 1976-1980.
