Default Are There Fake UDA certficates Out There Now...

or is this just a typo? Check out this listing. If true, definitely a disturbing trend... I know this is mostly a baseball card forum, but any thoughts from autograph collectors is welcome

there are fake UDA cert's out there. Having said that, UDA did have Mickey Mantle under contract before he passed. They produced, for the most part, signed balls and Mitchell & Ness jersey's. Holograms on items produced before 2002 are not in the UD database. You can call customer service to verify.

They spelled Mantle - Mantel? Just a typo or attempted fraud?

DOH!

Even more of a reason to call their customer service and enquire. They may be able to tell you right away if they really made that mistake or not.

The mantle is real and so is the cert. You are correct all you need to do is call uda and they will tell you that this is a Mantle autographed ball.I will tell you that people do take off the cert on a cheap ball and then but it on a forged expensive ball or jersey. Then they say that they only have the holo gram on the item.

Has anyone tried typing in the hologram number in the Upper Deck database on the web site for verification? For some reason, it comes up saying that no number exists.

You can only do that with items signed after 2000.
