Default The weirdest photo ever taken... What the hell is going on here!

I came across this photo recently and had to share it. Not exactly sure what the hell is going on, but it does NOT look good! This is by far the most unusual (and weird) image we have come across.

I give you the 1938 Tennessee Volunteers Football team showering up after a tough practice.

Boy, it seems like any photo on ebay that has two guys even looking at each other gets the heading "gay interest", however, this photo might actually deserve that wording.

P.S. Tennessee was 11-0 that year. Whatever works.....

The photo is only unusual because it depicts men in the shower in 1938. The behavior is probably not unusual for the era though. Men were a lot more "chummy" with one another. You see this in numerous photos from the era, they weren't afraid to touch each other.

A teammate invading Joe D's personal space.

Rhys, guys touched each other more back then. Sometimes they touched each other in the shower, and with soap. Sometimes they smiled. Sometimes they bent over a little, like the guy on the right.

But the main thing to remember here is that all these guys are from Tennessee.

Scott, that is one thing when looking at this photo that DID NOT cross my mind

Also, its not the group shower, or the fact that guys are lathering up other guys rather than themselves that makes this photo weird. Its the facial expressions that are just crazy. WAY too much fun.

Hamming it up for the camera. Doubt that these guys were messing around like that after every practice.

To quote Vince Lombardi "What the hell is going on here, everybody grabbing, grabbing, grabbing." From a great old NFL Films segment.

Looks like an early version of the lemon party picture. Makes me sick.
