Default Johnny Unitas Goal Line Art Football HOF Postcard Question

Hi everyone,

Hope you are well.

It's Kevin Glew from SMR magazine here.

I'm putting together an article about Football Hall of Fame Goal Line Art postcards.

I was wondering if anyone out there happens to know the story behind the Johnny Unitas Goal Line Art postcard. It appears that it was slated to be released in 1994 as part of the sixth series as card #174, but it was not released until 1997.

Was there some sort of dispute that delayed the release of this card?

I've sent two emails and left a voicemail message at Goal Line Art, but I have received no response. So I was wondering if anyone out there knew the story.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Kevin Glew

Hi Gevin, sorry I can't help you. I collected at the beginning and can't remember hearing anything about a problem releasing a Unitas card.
By any chance do you know what month each of the series were released? It's helpful to know, in regards to autographs, especially when a player died the same year as his card was released.
Anyway, good luck on your article.
Mike

One more update on the Unitas card that may or may not help. I noticed that the Unitas card is actually numbered to match my 1 - 6 series sets (they stopped numbering after that), so I looked on the checklist of the 6th series and it has Unitas on there with an *, which also says not authorized for release. So, I guess someone, somewhere gave a big NO to releasing it. Sorry that's not much help, but it's all I got.
