Default Seems People Have Forgotten This is Pre-War

I love that all these new people have found the site, but please be reminded that this section is for pre-war baseball (pre WWII, not Viet Nam). There are other areas for post war, and basketball, and non-sports.

Some threads that go into topics that transcend pre-war, like the skyrocketing prices of cards, generally, I think have been accepted. But lately I see lots of threads about 1950s cards and freshly graded Jordan’s on the main page. Can we be mindful to put the right topics in the right parts of the site.

Thanks

The front page is never more than 25% pre-war threads. The majority is usually made up of death notices, complaining (ebay, PSA, Deans, scammers, AH rules and ethics, TPG wait times, HOF voting - the list goes on and on), as well as post-war cards, modern card values and paid advertisements.

My point is that while I 100% agree with you, this is not a new phenomenon either.

Picked up an n172 Burns to go with my n173 Dogs Head Burns. Thought I'd add some vintage cards to this thread.

You're correct. Probably 80% of topics on the prewar page belong in the watercooler section. Tpg and auction house complaints would consume it.

After checking, I was wrong. It's about 50%.

I like the vibe of both the pre-war and post-war forums, I like them separate since they have different energy on each forum. If we're talking about cards specifically pre-war belongs here, post-war belongs there. I agree wholeheartedly that we should all be telling more stories about baseball and collecting whether it's pre or post war.

As I count them, at least pertaining to what us Pre-War guys do, there are far fewer than 50% OT.

Thanks. Yeah, whatever the stadium-like backdrop that they used is neat. Here's another Burns from that shoot...
