I think this 35 Goudey is in a 7 holder. I like how the background red blends with the red border...

Whether unaltered or not, I have always thought mint looking PreWW2 cards looked unnatural.

LOL, we get it Ethan, you bought a high grade Cobb. We’ve seen these before from the Black Swamp find. No need to start extra threads to show it off.

I was joking about another thread tomorrow with the Cobb. I'm just a bit PSYCHED! Never had a high grade vintage piece, let alone one like the SGC 9.5 1910 Cobb.

I like all the cards posted in this thread, even Brian's. The green Collins one would have been called "near mint" in the 80's. I don't have a lot of high grade cards, but like to add a nice type card when I find a good deal...

2660 hits in 1923 has to be some kind of record.

I thought you were going to mention that it has a Superman back. I guess it's technically a "broadcaster" card.

How about a Delong...

Not quite "Mint", but pretty nice. Sorry, didn't see you said HOFer. Well, he's in the Cardinal's HOF.

Pre-WWII
Perhaps Walter Johnson from my PIEDMONT set qualifies...…….however, if it's pre-Korean War, then Stan Musial from my 1949 BOWMAN set certainly qualifies......

The ‘49-B Robinson missed by a hair. Thought I’d include it anyway since we’re talking Korean War.

And if someone from BODA comes back and tells me the Ruths are trimmed, so help me...

I just realized that the OP said HOF. Oh well, Rabbit Warstler and Marty McManus are not in the HOF. Still, great cards, all. Here's a Rabbit who did make the Hall...I think the precedent is any pre-1950 card in nice condition...

Not NM+, but maybe I'll slip in a few Pre War HOF cards that present better than their given grades.

Absolutely gorgeous card, Ethan. If someone tells you otherwise, they’re either lying or jealous — or both. Me? I’m jealous!

Also bumping to keep this thread alive. Nothing like viewing stunning pre-war HOF’ers in all their century-old cardboard glory! Keep em coming, boys and girls. Wish I had some to add, but Slabgate has kept my wallet glued shut until drastic changes are made. I know, I know... wishful dreaming on my part.
