Default 1980-87 Baseball Immortals print variation

I found this variation with Lou Boudreau's #115 card....one copy has his name as 'Lord" and the other is correct as Lou. On the back, I noticed that both copies show "1st Printing".

I purchased a large group of cards from this set...some of the cards from throughout the group have the notation "1st Printing" on the back while other cards do not. On the front of the cards with "1st Printing" on the back, they all have a lighter colored flag, image border and box at the top (as with the "Lou" card) while the cards that do not have the 1st print cards notation all have a darker back ground in these same areas (as with the "Lord" version).

Was the "Lord" version part of a later printing based on the darker colored flag, image border and box or was this error actually corrected in the "1st printing"?
