Default Current state of Luka cards...

Luka's rookie cards have been dipping slightly in price. What do you think are the main reasons for this happening? There are probably several things at play here. He has been putting up good numbers this year. Averaging 28/8.5/9.5

Seems like some people are getting and nervous and selling? Seeing a card like this at auction makes me believe that is the case

The mavs haven’t been great this year despite his play. I think maybe people are starting to see that the ceiling on him is more like Dirk and less like Lebron or Kobe where he won’t be winning a ton of championships. If I’m holding a lot of modern basketball maybe I target him for profit taking over others. Just guessing obviously.

Default Luka

I am a big Mavericks fan, and although I don't typically collect basketball, I bought 4 Luka rookie cards late in his rookie season. I paid around $5,000 for all four, and as of a few weeks ago those four cards are selling for over $30,000 combined. You will see spikes when he has a great game and dips when he has a bad game, but overall, his market is headed up very quickly. I don't know if he'll ever get to the level of Lebron, but he certainly has the talent to do so. Dirk is one of my favorite players of all time, but Luka has the chance to be a top-5 player of all time if he stays healthy.

Yea, I think they need add a few pieces to this roster if they want to compete. You just can't do win it all in today's game with one superstar, unless your name is Kawhi.

They are better than their record reflects, but I think you are correct. They’ve been hit hard with Covid protocols this season. I think they could end up being a top 4 seed in the West, but they probably can’t compete for a championship with the current roster.
