Default Card prices are so crazy now......How crazy are they????

So, card prices are so crazy now that Dean's BINs look like the bargain basement at the local thrift store.

or

Card prices are so crazy now that banks are offering 30 year mortgages on Cobb and Ruth cards.

How do you finish the statement??

Cards, like any commodity, are just a vehicle to reveal a Mans character.

Nice... That one used to me mine! Though guess I left about $9,999,300 on the table by selling when I did.

Card prices are so crazy now, that when I tried to take out a loan and the bank asked if I had any collateral, I whipped out my 1969 Reggie Jackson rookie card, PSA 4.

The bank authorized the loan without a further question!

Card prices are so crazy right now that PWCC announced the introduction of a baseball card market daily ticker. (THIS IS A JOKE IN RESPONSE TO THE OP - lest anyone be confused)

At the time their prices were insanely high compared to others.

I was looking for some tobacco cards a few nights ago and Dean had the best overall prices by a long ways. Still to high for me though.

About Dean's Cards together with the recent Gehrig thread.

Saw on ebay Dean's has a 1926-29 Exhibit Lou Gehrig PSA 1 for sale ... $20,220.00 Wow! So tough to gauge current market for some cards that rarely come up for sale. But given the 1925 Gehrig price, do you think this $20.k is anywhere near realistic for the 1926/29 ?

Thats a huge increase over even a year ago. And then we can talk about the 1920's Ruth Exhibits - how high on these cards in today's market? Whew, pinch me I must be dreaming!

there are many desirable cards on ebay where the prices increase hundreds of percentage points on a day to day basis. Mostly fishing imo.

That one has been up at that price on ebay for a long time before the sale I believe. I'd be shocked if that one sold for that asking.

All of which probably points to it being a good time to cash out...when this thing of ours no longer brings scorn, derision and shame from our loved ones, it is probably nearing the top of the bubble.

Card prices are so crazy that the wallstreetbets mob has moved on from GME and AMC and is now targeting the original penny stocks, junk wax era rookies. Long-forgotten binders full of Cory Snyder and Devon White rookies are secreted off to safety deposit boxes or traded straight-up for Lambos. PWCC auctions are no longer dominated by Kobe and Lebron, but rather by Juan Samuel and Jeff Stone. Market observers are aghast as raw 1987 Donruss Pete Incaviglia prices surge past those of 1986 Fleer Jordan PSA 10 cards.

Card prices are so crazy now...that if I wanted to buy a car last month, I had to sell a very high grade Mantle card to afford it, but to buy the very same car now, all I have to do is part with a mid-grade Gregg Jefferies rookie card.

Well stated, Adam. My wife suggests that I sell out but knows my cards have psychic value so would never press the issue.

Hope all are healthy.

My wife still has scorn over my cards. If I buy a Cobb/ruth she gets a Chanel. Tit for tat. Question is do I tell her that they graduated from the Chanel to Birkin? Nahhhh

Default Card prices are o crazy now....

That designers are working on "wearable" baseball card fashion designs"

When I pull up to a bar women are more interested in the card I'm sporting more than the car I'm driving!

Cards for sale: https://www.flickr.com/photos/185900663@N07/albums

I am actively buying and selling vintage sports cards graded and raw. Feedback as a buyer: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=297262

I am accepting select private consignments of quality vintage cards (raw or graded) and collecting "want" lists for higher end ($1K+) vintage cards.

Card prices are so crazy that I've simply stopped buying. Enough is enough - at least for me and what I'm willing to pay.

March 2021 will probably be the first month in approximately a decade in which I haven't bought a card.
