Default I have cracked out my last Becketts encapsulated card.

Their new design makes opening the case, in my estimation, for too dangerous to the card. It incorporates a recessed cradle on the rear half, into which fits the entire front section. This results in no middle seam available for prying.

In trying to overcome this design with force upgraded to an actual small screwdriver, I found that the potential for damage to myself or surroundings was too great in case of slippage.

I therefore adjourned this frivolity to the basement, my vise, and couldn't find the hacksaw, so used a sheetrock keyhole saw. Made quick work of the project, but the name of the project was a BVG 1.5

If it had been a card in a higher state of preservation, it could take too long to safely free it from its constraint. I therefore abandon purchasing any more of these BVG holdered cards.

That's because you are cracking them the wrong way. There have been threads about this in the past. You use a flat head screwdriver and whack it in the center - it cracks in half.

Good point Richard! Or to use just one tool: a hatchet may work.
