Default Strange as it may be

Strange as it maybe but was it common for collectors to write their names on the backs of cards? I have seen stamps but whats the odds that there are 2 cards on Ebay with the same name scribbled on the back.

Just thought of Miller Huggins when I seen them

Link to one and pics of the other
