Default Help with a “unique” T205.

Recently picked this up at auction because it was so weird looking. Borders are smooth and have the yellow background. Not sure what the pattern is on the border though. Is this just simply a card that missed the gold border pass when printing? Card is definitely real and while I think it’s trimmed, doesn’t look to be handcut at all.

Never seen one like it.....thoughts?

Default Wet transfer.....

Jeff,

You definitely have wet transfer. I'm pretty sure I can see the word "Killer" in reverse on the front so the same card was on top of course during the transfer. Look to the right of his collar and you can clearly see the wet transfer. The colors allow you to see it better which is tougher on T205s. My point is they are much easier to see on T206s due to the white backgrounds on t206s.

I can't explain the colors on the front. Those are wild. Cool card!

Peace, Mike

I was going to say it's the special "camo" version, but I think "wet sheet transfer" makes sense. I can see the lettering now that you pointed it out.

Default Wst

The WST is even more obvious in hand, you can see the Sweet Caporal at the bottom. I just hadn’t seen a yellow bordered 205 before with the weird markings around the border.

It's missing the gold, and perhaps the design is the remnants. It's known that underneath the gold it was printed yellow.

A couple of other board members have T205s without the gold. Here's my Paskert.

I haven't seen one with the pattern like yours - it looks like maybe the gold only stuck a little bit for some reason.

I had a wild thought that maybe the gold was printed on in a pattern for some other gold-border card type, like this T43 bird card, but I haven't found a good match for the pattern on your card.

It's a very cool card.

Excellent, and good idea! Is your 205 factory cut? Because it looks so, and I thought the yellow border ones were all scrap.

I think the design in the border is from black ink that ran. Reminds me of water colors from art class in grade school.

In hand, Paskert looks hand-cut or trimmed on at least the left edge.
