Has anyone else had a problem with their Andale counter stopping or re-setting? I just noticed a while ago that I have more people currently watching an auction than have viewed it, and I presume that's not possible.

Leon, feel free to lock the thread if it's considered off-topic; I just figured somebody here might know about this sort of thing.



Glenn- per the board rules you are allowed a few questions like this since you are a regular board participant. I feel it makes for more of a family atmosphere....regards (moderator dude)

the only thing i noticed before is that it takes awhile to update for some reason...and one time i was watching a ty cobb that had been viewed 400+ times on day 5 or 6, then on day 7 it said it had been viewed 100 times...weird.

I noticed something similar the other day....I had 10 watchers but the page said it had only been viewed 6 times. I actually went back and forth from "my ebay" page to the auction to see if I correc the problem. Finally, I hit the refresh button on the auction page and the view counter hit 50 or so.

I don't know if it was an ebay problem or I was pulling the page up from my computer temp cache versus from the Ebay server.

eBay counters act funny sometimes, such as suddenly resetting to a lower number. Whether for an eBay auction or a website, the counter is a conservative count of visitors. For one's home page there are numerous circumstances were a counter doesn't count a legitimate visitor. This commonly has to do with a page's/counter's load time.
