Default OT: Frequency of Visits to Net54

This is for those who have been Net54 members for at least 5 years. Do you frequent the site more or less often than in the past few years, or about the same?

A couple of times a day, which is about average. I do, however, go through spells where I lose interest in collecting and disappear for a few months. That has occurred at least twice.

I frequent a number of hobby related boards but many of those other ones seem to be overrun with kids who only care about selling their most recent pack pull or others who only want to pick a internet fight. This type of activity has resulted in me frequenting these boards more than I did five years ago because it seems there are more true collectors here who love the hobby as much as I do and are not out to make a quick buck. Dont get me wrong as I like a quick buck as much as the next guy but I also love this hobby too!!

Multiple times a day, for about 8-9 years. I have had some down periods, but pretty consistent. In particular, I check the BST routinely to make sure I don't miss anything good. Still do, though, sometimes...

i'm still able to visit at least a handful of times a day to scan the b/s/t and hot topics on the main board, but before I had kids (5-6 yrs ago) I was able to check in more often.

Frequency wise, 3-4 times a day. Length of visit has dropped for me in recent months, probably no more than 5-10 minutes at a time.

Probably about 5-10 times per day for me. I have definitely picked up the frequency now that I have an iPhone w/ this site up at all times. My company Internet blocked this forum, so I missed out on a lot of stuff. Now I conveniently check the main forum and BST during my bathroom breaks! So happy to get non-stop Net54 action now.

It's hard when I do a google search for a card on the Internet at work an find that my answer is from a Net54 topic from a few years ago, only to get blocked from moving further. Now I just type in the same search on my iPhone and voila!!

Leon -what is meant by the bounce rate? I hope it doesn't concern checks written for B/S/T purchases.

In case you just can't wait for the exciting answer.

It's the percentage of people who go to Net54, but don't view any threads or pages.

Less recently but that is because I am more focused on my collecting. Still visit a couple of times a day (2-3) but often only check the main board once a day and spend more time checking the BST.

Thanks for the reply Jake. It's hard to believe one out of seven visits is for people that don't look at any threads. What are they doing? Probably just checking to see if Adrian has started any new threads.

I frequent it a lot - mainly because it is the ONLY forum I go to for any type of collectibles information, unless someone sends me a link to another forum.

That and I work out of my home, which is why I post so much.

Never thought about this until reading this post.. but I realized tonight that I checked the forum from my iPhone 7-8 times during a long run in between checking work/personal emails, baseball scores, etc. Those 7-8 N54 checks I'm guessing show up as "bounces". I think I probably inflate that bounce rate quite a bit since I may check the forum when I get 30 seconds a minute at any given point in the day... and if there are no new posts in the particular thread(s) that interested me, I just move on.

It would be easier to figure how much time I spend off this site. Seriously, There are some days I bounce in and out 50 times. And I'm all over it, prewar, post war, memorabilia, all the nooks and crannies. Dave.

My alarm goes off at 7am. Within 5 minutes I'm sipping on a latte and perusing the pre-war forums and B/S/T via the tapatalk app on my ipad. An hour later, I'm on a bus to work and seeing if I've missed anything in the past hour; if not, I'll read the Economist or the baseball happenings from the day before. Once I get to work, I check those same sections every hour or two since I work on a computer all day long and need small but frequent breaks. Then another bus ride back home. At night, I look over my two Pennzoni displays of cards (one in the living room and one in the bedroom) and do one last visit to the forums for new posts or old ones on a topic that I've researching before I go to sleep to give myself the best chance of having baseball dreams.

So ya. Thanks to everyone who contributes to the wealth of information available here.
