Default What Do you think..........Guys

Picked this snapshot up about 5 or 6 years ago from a fellow "54`er". It`s from 1915 and shows the Red Sox on their way to the stadium. That Big Fella in the middle, with his face turned to the left, looks like someone I know. Wishful thinking on my part or could that be the Babe ? Thought we could use a bit of fun distraction today. Thanx for the input and hang tough !

He’s wearing shoes, so probably not Jackson....

I am not giving an opinion on the Ruth, but I think it is possible that is from Hot Springs spring training, not Boston. Might be worth looking into, there is a Hot Springs expert on the board.

I does look more like one of the surviving Hot Springs trolleys than a Boston trolley.

Default Hot Springs, very interesting

Thanks very much Bgar3 and Steve for the help and research. Sounds like the 2 of you are on the right track, that being Hot Springs not Boston, with this photo. That`s why the "54" is THE best and such an enjoyable part of my day. Will keep up the detective work while following this and any other input from the gang.

Send a PM to the member "Hot Springs Bathers" who should definitely be able to give you a positive ID if the pic is from Hot Springs or not....

Murph I shared the photo with several local historians and they do believe that this photo could be on Park Avenue in Hot Springs where the original Majestic Hotel was located. The hotel would be to the left of the photo.

With everything shut down I can't go into the Garland County Historical Society building to ask some of the downtown experts to confirm the buildings on the right.

I will follow up with more info in a day or two. The other give away might be the coats, it appears to be March type weather?

I don't think it's Jackson, and it's probably not Ruth, but I am pretty sure that the horse on the left is Man o' War.

Thank you Mike for the extra effort sir, looking forward to your updates. On a side note I have it on good authority that that Horse is none other than the world famous "Stool Sample". EVERY time a bet on him he ran like a piece of crap!
