Default Would rather have all four T206 Cobbs or all four Goudey Ruths?

Curious which set of four you'd rather have if you had the means to get either? Lets assume for this instance the goudey ruths would be lower grade with good eye appeal and the Cobbs would be lower to mid grade with good eye Appeal.

I'm working on putting all 4 Ruths together right now so I suppose that's my answer. Just missing the red one. The t206 Cobbs are great cards too, and I may put that group together again but I have a feeling once I do get the last Ruth I will be holding on to them for a while.

I would get two of each. The best two quartets in vintage. You can’t go wrong either way.

Great question. I'd take the four Cobbs since he is my favorite all time player. Can't go wrong with either choice though. I only really like the Ruth #144 pose out of the four Goudeys, so that's another reason I'd take the Cobbs, I like all four of those cards.

Both iconic quartets and I cant get both so trying to decide which way I want to go. I did think it would be more ruth heavy, given how it seems like everyone wants at least one goudey ruth if not more. That being said, there is no denying the T206 Cobbs.

cobbs in a heartbeat. But preferably 2 of each: cobb green, bat off...and ruth red/yellow.

Had to search to find this image. I do wish I had held on to these looking back. They looked great together. But I still prefer the Ruths

I'd have to go with Cobby's by a slight hair. But I'd love to own both quartets.

The Ruth's are outpacing the Cobbs price wise by quite a bit. I wonder if that shows the Cobbs have some room to grow to narrow the gap?

About as close a match as you could get for 4 cards of same player in two very popular sets. The Cobbs have two very similar designs (red and green portraits), while Ruth has the red and yellow background batting. The #144 of Ruth batting was a double print, while the Cobb portrait with red background is one of T206 sets' most common cards.

I would go with the 4 T206 Cobb cards, because when it comes down to I just like T206 better as a set, and they are 20+ years older than the Goudeys and issued during the deadball era.

On the other hand I sure would like all 4 Ruth cards...

If we are talking just personal preference here, Ruth without a doubt. GOAT and more fun personality. You hear about a Ruthian home run but not anything Cobbian.

Better watch out with all this Ruthian talk, or else Ty with his sharpened spikes will get all Cobbian on you.

See? Doesn't flow in the sentence like a Ruthian clout.
