Default Return of Collectibles Classics

Received this email today. John and Judy (whom we all miss) ran a nice small top-notch auction house. I hope this goes well for them.

With the help of several friends, the Auction for Collectors that Judy and I launched in 2002 will resume next month. We plan to have CCA40 online Thursday, Oct. 8. The auction will close Thursday, Oct. 29.

Judy and I worked on our Collectible Classics auctions for more than 13 years – until she became ill in late 2015. Continuing them without her is difficult. We are undecided about continuing the catalog. We miss Judy’s wonderful graphic design capabilities. If the catalog is important to you, please let me know by email or phone. Your comments will help us to decide what to do. Of course, the complete auction will be online. And if you want a catalog for the October auction, please email or call me.

As we approach the start of the auction, I am also looking for a buyer for the wheelchair van we used for taking Judy to medical appointments and to church. A photo is attached, and more photos are on our website, now at www.auctionscc.net. The van is a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan with about 79,000 miles. It has been well maintained and is in good working order. It is the side-entry variety, which enables the family member to sit next to the driver. Our sales price is $9,475, which is less than what the dealer we purchased it from is asking for similar vans. We are willing to drive as long as 3 hours, or about 200 miles, to show the van to anyone who is seriously interested.

We appreciate your support and patience over the past four plus years. I personally plan to devote most of my time to offering the consignments that have been here since Judy became ill. Our goal is to have at least four auctions next year.

You can reach me by email at john@auctionscc.net or at 724-446-3079. Please don’t send text messages. My 8-year-old flip-phone isn’t the best device for texting. Judy was our computer and technology person, and she was outstanding.

Best regards,

John Burk

They have been away for along time, and understandably so. Was a fun auction house back in the day, with a lot of different types of cards and memorabilia targeting the collector as end recipient. It will be interesting to see what the new auction has to offer.

With the new website www.auctionscc.net , their auction house listing deserves to be updated in the Vintage Links tab. (I might be the only one on earth that uses those links, but still...)
