Default 1920's Ruth cards

Posted By: steve

I would like to make a first time aquisition of a Ruth card. The 1933 Goudey issues are really not that rare and very expensive. A 1920's Ruth card is my focus - but which one ?

Is there a master card listing for all of Ruth's 1920's issues (with pictures)?

Also, which particular issues do you folks find most appealing; perhaps one of the 1921-22 Exhibits, or some W card with real photo? I do not want one of those cartoonish looking things. How about the 1926 Spalding if can be found. Or some other issue you like?

Maybe list your top 3 1920's Ruth choices. Thanks, Steve.

Steve:

I like the 1921 American Caramel, the 1928 R315 & 1929 Kashin R316.

This one is from the 1930s, but it's cheap.

I still would go for a Goudey Ruth. Just because a card is common doesn't make it bad. A Goudey Ruth is one of the most recoginizable cards in the hobby and is more attractive IMHO than his 1920s issues.
