Default The "New" Old Trading T206 Thread

I was having a "walk down memory lane" conversation with one of my "oldest" T206 friends, Dougscats recently. He came up with the great idea of starting another "The T206 Trading Post" thread (trade mark -- Dougscats ).

We haven't, I believe, had one of these in many years. But, I do remember they were quite popular and very successful.

Of course, it's fine to post separate "wants/needs" threads individually. This is just a thread to have a "joint venture."

With the notable (and continuing) rising prices of cards, trading is always another option .............. and trading is FUN !!!!!!!!

So, if interested, list your needs, and possible trading options.

"Ironically" I have nothing to trade .... ..... but here is a link to my needs:

https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=291425

So, let's have at it ................

Fun, fun, Scott

Default EPDG Bresnahan, Old Mill Dineen, SC 25's, and more--

Looking ifor upgrades on most hall-of-famers and many commons; also, back-stamps, oddities, SC 460/25, and uncommon backs.
I prefer ungraded but like graded too.

Have these to start:

BRESNAHAN, batting, EPDG, BVG 3.5, [Over-graded? Lot of corner wear, upper right, for a 3.5],
Clancy, Piedmont 350, SGC 30, [oversized]

Dineen, Old Mill, SGC 20, [Intriguing card: oversized/miscut: measures 2 11/16" with slight diamond cut; half-name on bottom, huge blank top, which makes me wonder if this card was on the top row of an uncut sheet. I should add that the card looks to me to be in G+ condition. SGC may lump miscuts in the 20 grade; I know they do that for marked cards.],

Kleinow catching, Bos, [b] SC 460/25, ~SP], SGC 50, (Is this considered a Short Print? Technically excellent with a tough back; if you don’t mind the diamond-cut, this is a bargain). --SOLD--

Quillen, Piedmont, SGC A [Looks Ex, presumably trimmed],

along with these [Scans upon request]:

SC 460/25: Danny Murphy batting, PSA 1.5, and
Gabby Street catching, SGC 30.

SC 350/25: Hal Chase throwing, dark cap, SGC 30, and
Josh Clark, SGC 50.

I also have 5 ungraded, including 2 SL's. See Post 15 below.

And I have a hundred more, with a variety of backs, such as OM, Sovereign, Tolstoi, EPDG, and more. But I'd only trade these for cards I want dearly.

Default It's "Trading Post," Scott, "T206 Trading Post"! It's yours.

Anyway, no bites yet.

My excitement has abated.

Doesn't anyone want to trade?
Won't anyone come out to play?

I suspect that many collectors, like Scott, don't have much left,
that Covid has created many more collectors, and that supply is thinner than ever.

And, while I'm very happy my collection is worth much more than it was,
I don't want to pay the prices that T206's are going for!

Yet, I still yearn to collect.

Maybe I don't want to buy, but I wouldn't mind trading!

Ideally, looking for a fair trade with someone who matches up with me.

Aside from what I mentioned in the previous post, here's some other stuff I have to trade:

19th c. Woodcuts: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=283138
19th c., N29 G. Miller: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=285699
T205: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=260937
T202 Middle Panels: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=265602
1920's-50, H-o-F Odds and Ends: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=285669
1950-59: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=287904

Also available:

E91 Jacklitsch SGC 10--nice Poor

1914 Polo Grounds Game card, Frank Baker, SGC A [clipped corner; otherwise VG],

T220 Champions [Boxing]:
Tommy Ryan, PSA 4,
Terry McGovern, PSA 4,
Jack O'Brien, PSA 4,
Jack McAuliffe, PSA 4,
Freddie Welsh, PSA 4.5,
Johnny Frayne, PSA 5

Topps:
1982 #21 Bonner/Ripken {RC], PSA 6.

Oh, I also have some h-of rookie card doubles-nothing too valuable, Whitey Ford, the best--that I'd love to trade for ones I need.

Thanks.

Doug

Default T206 Rucker Polar Bear

I would like to add to my monster number and trade this for a different SGC/PSA 4 Polar Bear. I can add cash for a graded 5, tougher card, or tougher back.

I don't have much available for trade but here's what I do have. You can PM me here on Net54 or if swapping scans, email might be easier. You can email me at unclenacki@aol.com

If you see something you would like but don't have anything on my want list, I'm open to listening to what you have, as long as it's T206. Even if it's a bunch of Piedmont commons, because I really don't have many Piedmonts. Graded or Ungraded. As long as there's no trimmed, major damage, or writing. Please keep in mind that I'm not desperate to sell or trade, but if it's a fair deal, I'm open to hearing what you have. Thanks for taking the time to look at my messy confusing list.

CARDS I HAVE AVAILABLE FOR TRADE.

I have the following 6 cards available, which are the T206 Sweet Caporal 350-460 Factory 30 Scrap/Hand Cut (No Prints - Missing The Overprint) Scans available if requested.

Bradley, Bill (With Bat)
Crawford, Sam (With Bat)
Pelty, Barney (Vertical)
Wagner, Heinie (Bat On Right Shoulder)
Willetts, Ed
Wiltse, Hooks (Pitching)

Also available are the cards listed on my eBay as user id (sallyoni). Here's a list of the Tobacco cards I have listed. Scans can be seen on eBay

T205 Hal Chase Frame Ends PSA 4 Cycle Gold Border 1911
T206 Tubby Spencer Piedmont 350 "ELITE 11"
T206 Simon Nichols With Bat Batting Super Rare Polar Bear
T207 Charles Dooin Print Error SGC 40 VG 3 Recruit

CARDS I AM LOOKING FOR.

I'm looking for 1 of each T206, which are the Sweet Caporal 350-460 Factory 30 (No Prints - Missing The Overprint)

Burch, Al (Fielding)
Cobb, Ty (Bat Off Shoulder)
Jennings, Hughie (One Hand Showing)
Jennings, Hughie (Two Hands Showing)
Jordan, Tim (Batting)
Lajoie, Nap (With Bat)
Leach, Tommy (Bending Over)
Manning, Rube (Pitching)
Overall, Orval (Hand At Face Level)
Tinker, Joe (Bat Off Shoulder)
Wilhelm, Kaiser (With Bat)

I'm also looking for the following T206's with any back but would prefer a non Piedmont/Sweet Caporal. Sweet Caporal Factory 25's would be ok.

WALTER JOHNSON, PORTRAIT
NAP LAJOIE, PORTRAIT
CHRISTY MATHEWSON, PORTRAIT
CHRISTY MATHEWSON, WHITE CAP
CY YOUNG, CLE. GLOVE SHOWS

I'm looking for the following T206 cards with a Polar Bear Back.

Cobb, Ty (Portrait - Red)
Johnson, Walter (Glove At Chest)
O'Hara, Bill (St. Louis)
Wheat, Zack
Young, Cy (With Glove)

I'm looking for the following 4 cards that are part of the T206 Elite 11's (12's if you count Schulte).

Tom Jones - St Louis - Piedmont 350
Carl Lundgren - Chicago Cubs - Piedmont 350
Bill Dahlen - Boston - EPDG
Wildfire Schulte - Front View - Sovereign 150

There's also a large list of T206 Print Group One Old Mill's I'm looking for. Especially a Pink Hal Chase.

Above is a link to my current trade cards, nothing but what I have listed for sale on the BST, but I’m Open to any trade proposals, although my need list is pretty thin these days.

Always willing to entertain trades. Also, I will have a few new toughies available soon

Cheers All

I would be. Been buying lots of random t206s for years. Now I have around 150 dupes that i would be interested in trading. Mostly common backs raw, low grade 1 to 2 range - lots of issues - writing, paperloss, backstamp, trimmed, etc, but generally present well from the front. I think my monster number is somewhere around 436. I need around 15 southern leaguers, 33 HoF, 4 short prints )- demmitt, ohara, dahlen brooklyn, brown wash, and 30ish commons which are mostly cubs, whitesox, both NY teams and cincinatti players, also Gandil and the 2 chase throwing poses. Most of the dupes are commons, a handful of southern leaguers and a couple lower tier HoF cards. Never sold a card so not setup to scan, but I'm sure I can figure it out. I assume just posting a list of have and need is the best way to proceed?

That's a lot of dupes. I am sure if you post a list of what you have, some members will reach out.

I need to sort through everything to see what I have dupes of and which I want to keep, etc. Problem is I have a toddler at home, which makes it hard to lay everything out to get it all sorted. I bought a reprint set that I use to keep track of what I have, and to sort through what I need, and what's on its way from ebay/AH/Net54/FB, etc. That seems to work pretty well - also helps to identify cards if you can't read the name in pictures. I know most of the key stuff on sight - Hall of famers, Southern leaguers, short prints, etc., but not every single common. Once I finally get around to it I will post a list.

I'd be open to trading too...I have just recently gotten my collection in order and scanned and figured out what i'm keeping and what i'm selling/trading. Next step is getting the pics posted somewhere....

I have about 750 extras, almost all common backs, mix of grade (1-4) and raw (p-vg).

Looking for some SL raw beaters for binder, and about 200 diff off backs (polar bear counts as off!) in 3ish condition or better (raw is fine).

Jim - I've been getting a lot of my commons from you on facebook, so that may work well. I do have a handful of SL dupes that may work. I don't think I have any or many cards that approach 3's I'm afraid - especially not in off backs - most of mine falls between A to 2.

Anyone interested in trading raw commons for Washington raw commons?

Can send over my list and pictures as needed. Most of my raw are in A-2 range.

Would be a fun way to get a portion of the Washington subset knocked out.

So far I just have Gabby Street and Bob Unglaub

Matt

Cool thread.

I'd consider trading this SGC 3.5 Green Cobb for the right scenario. Would consider a Drum (graded higher than a 1), Brown Old Mill, BL460 graded higher than 1.5, (very) rare back HOFers (especially Cobb). Also looking for rare back Chase Blue Portraits (P42, Cycle 460, Lenox, Red Hindu, CB, BL350).

(May also consider drastic front miscuts).

Could be partial trade/partial cash.

Send me a PM (prefer to discuss it via messages, not in this thread, thanks!)
Michael

Here are a few that I would potentially be open to trading. The Seymour, Merkle and Mathewson have back stamps, which isn’t really my thing. Ideally I’d trade them to someone who is into back stamps for the same card minus the stamp. Would be willing to look at similarly valued t206s as well.

The Gehrig is in an SGC holder, while all my other Goudey HOFers are PSA. Would look to trade for a PSA Gehrig.

Note: the Merkle is definitely trimmed and the Gehrig may have pencil marks/smudging on the front and/or back.

Default Needs

I have around 50 dupes that I am looking to trade for what I need. I have bought lots on here. Made 1 trade and never sold anything, so I am sure my pictures will suck. If there is any interest in anything let me know and I can take better individual pics. I will post my needs with pictures of reprints as I am too lazy to type all the names. I will post needs then haves. I am doing this from a phone and never uploaded pics here so bare with me if there are a bunch of odd posts. First pic is hall of famers i need. Don't reckon I will knock too many off that list but just in case.
