A couple of Benches named "John."

(I got the Kenwood in April, but I couldn't resist posting them together...)

Off the 'bay last week:

Looks transitional between 68 game cards and issued deckle photos; front has full gloss just like the regular deckles, back is blank. Wonder if Topps almost went for another rounded corner insert in 69?

Default Harrelson

Dave--anything on back ? It looks a little like the prototype cards on the 68 Deckle proof sheets, although Harrelson is not one of the 9 players on that sheet. There are 3 versions of that sheet, with black, red or blue fascimile autographs. Is the auto blue on yours ? Neat item

Hi Al!

It's just a pure white back. I would say the stock is just a hair thicker then the regular deckles and the gloss is less, well, glossy by just a little. There was another one auctioned at the same time, I think a HOF'er but can't find my scan of it. I have never seen these before.

Darn it David, you beat me to the punch on that Mel Ott Batter Up! I saw it for sale in the B/S/T and I was a little too late. Nice pick-up!

Ha...Jeff, I can't believe I actually won it. It's been a while since I won an auction on here. Finally, the time waiting and losing has come to an end..lol

Thanks Jeff! Always willing to trade for Mantle stuff.

Default Hoyt Wilhelm 1971 Greatest Moments!

I usually only post in the prewar section of the board but I couldn't resist sharing this pickup I just won on ebay. I am a big hoyt wilhelm fan even though I am just a young college student and I have been looking for one of these for years. Dare I say this card is harder to find than his 1952 topps rookie card?

For my Musial Master Set:

2 Qty. 51 Berk Ross. The bottom card says 52 Berk Ross, but its a mistake on PSA's part.

Default Slowed down alot in May.,..

but picked up a few for a couple player collections...LOVE the 65 Santo for the colors-just has the look of a classic baseball card...and yet another 1968 card disappoints. I think I really hate that issue. The border is just so blah that I rarely find that it does anything for the image.

My first postwar pick up in many years. Eye appeal is incredible so I could not pass it up.
