With Hal's consent, I am showing some of the paintings that now adorn his office wall. Work done by my much more talented and creative half, Jennifer Ettinger (I've shown 3D photos of the paintings, because if I show them as flat portraits--well they look just like the cards)

They are the best paintings I could ever ask for!

Max's photos do NOT do them justice... because they are HUGE in real life!

They are each roughly the size of a movie poster!

His wife is truly talented, and I encourage ALL of you to let her commission some similar artwork for you!

That does it!! I now second the lighthearted suggestion made by someone in another thread that Hal needs his own forum!! Seriously, though, those are really great paintings and they show that vintage cards really were works of art. I guess I will have to settle for my poster from about 15 years back from the Met (I think it is out of print) of highlights from the Burdick collection.

This is NOT my office, this was taken in the artist's studio.

Not that I don't like sunflowers...

but the paintings look a LOT better in my office with a nice rich background wall behind them.

Who needs Picasso or Rembrandt??

Those old-timers should have spent more time painting scenes from a game of "stoolball."
