We were just talking about this on Vintage Football Community. Horrible news ... he was so young. RIP Mr. Greene.

Super under-appreciated career. #3 in sacks all-time, and looking at the career list, it looks like he will be there for a long time. Nobody still active is really in sniffing distance of him.

His final season in the NFL at age 37, he had 12 sacks and 18 "Tackles for Loss" (1st year it was kept track of). Those are elite numbers he went out on.

I picked up a PSA 10 of his Rookie a couple months ago on a whim, for not very much at all. Before the pandemic bump, they were practically giving them away.

I think maybe because he played for 4 different teams, he's not really identified as an icon for any specific franchise.
