Default Consignment Question, Postcards

If you had postcards to consign to an auction house, who would you consign them to? Would you worry about too many in one auction? When is the best time of year to consign, or does that matter? Thanks for your help.

I would consider using Prizner Auctions. They are somewhere in the Dallas area.

I'd be careful though as he has been known to misplace consignments.

Whoa. Not sure I'd consign all those at one time...you probably can't go wrong with the venue as long as they are publicized. I'd do ebay a few at a time unless someone wants to give you zero seller fees for a house auction.

Steve,
I already told you that you consigned to Prizner Auctions. We are now known as Astonishing Auctions and have nothing to do with Prizner Auctions so we just get to keep your cards.

Seriously though, amazing postcards Paul!

I would personally avoid ebay on those.

Why? Not sure I've seen too many rare baseball postcards on ebay go for less than they should unless they were listed poorly.

I would not worry about consigning them all at one time. A good collection can create a buzz. A few odd postcards is less of a big deal.

Goodwin would be my choice, and all at once. My two cents.

I have.

Also, I don't think think the ebay crowd would appreciate these as much as the auction house crowd in my opinion. Ebay sales seem very week these days for various reasons, I think the added auction house exposure would benefit these greatly.

Also agree, consigning them all at once would create some very nice hobby buzz for them.

Does the auction house crowd not look at eBay?

Some of the big hitters don't have time to wade through the ebay drivel. They mainly purchase from auction houses.

Even many small time casual collectors like myself find browsing through ebay painful these days.

Some of the big buyers don't want to fool with ebay, online sales, etc,... They just want everything in a concise full color catalog.

Thanks for all the input from the thread, PMs, & emails. I'm thinking about Mile High's fall auction. Any input about them, issues, etc.... Thanks again.

I spend about 10 minutes on ebay every 2-3 weeks.
