Default W517 cropping and other variations...anyone notice these before?

It is about time there are two threads involving the W517/W517-mini sets on the front page. While scanning the below Bing Miller cards from the W517 set for the other thread, I noticed something I had not before:

w517bingmillersa 001.jpg

Note that the cropping of Miller differs between the two cards (for example the spacing between the top of Bing's cap to the top border is smaller on the sepia variation on the right), but also that the border line surrounding the image is a larger overall size on the sepia one as well, and that the circle containing the card number has a slightly different placement seen in each of the cards, AND, perhaps most noticeably, the sepia card has a distinct slant to that number compared with the green tinted card.

Has anyone noticed any of this W517 action before? Not just for Miller, but other examples in the set? I don't remember seeing anything about variations in the set besides the tint colors, a few players with team changes, and the couple of cards in the set that have both numbered and unnumbered versions.

Thanks Greg. It is interesting to see that the greenish tint Miller came in both versions. Since my tilty number variation is sepia and yours green, it seems that these variations are not just tint specific.

And nice find on the Haas with the different cropping...I will have to see if I have any other unnoticed/unmentioned variations rattling around my clump of W517 cards.

Brian
