Could someone please tell me what in the world is going on with this auction? I know it is taboo to talk about current listings, and I'm sorry if this ruins anyone's chances at picking this up cheap, but come on. |

Maybe they should have put a BIN of $7,500 on it. |

You know it's real hard to protect everyone from their own stupidity. Best wishes to the winner of this gem. |

I am glad they put the value on the back of the card. Now I know what to bid. |

What happens when the card appreciates in value and is worth more than $7500? How do you get that number on the back to change? |

I will just scratch it out and add in the new value. This card is right up there with all of those Barry Sanders rookies posted in the pre 30 spot. |

But wouldn't that be considered an "alteration," to us pedestrian collectors? |

Cobby- that would be the dreaded "alteration of a fake", which means you could probably get it holdered. |

They claim that they are selling a card that they do not know much about, yet you can simply look in their feedback from sellers to see that they bid on and won that very card a few weeks back. |

I love how these people act like they know nothing about baseball cards. |

Yeah, no kidding. Looking at his small history of winning, he's been hitting a few Mickey Mantle's and some modern cards. I would find it hard to believe that he doesn't know ANYTHING about the Lajoie. But then again, he did just win this card a few weeks ago and is already set to make a profit, though a small one. |

...and then has the audacity to create a separate account and shill it to $49 on the same day he lists it. |

Wow! Can this guy be anymore obvious! Check out his other auction he is running. Then look at the bid history. Recognize the bidder? |

Check out the bid history and look at the retraction statement, are people still dumb enough to bid after the fact?? If it gets over 200, you can bet there will be serious shilling! |

asking him if he doesn't know anything about the card, then why did he spend $35 on a fake a few weeks back. His reply? "Not that it's any of your business, but I just bought a trolling motor and my wife is making me sell some of the cards I bought." I almost fell over laughing. |

Do you know what the weirdest part is? The high bidder (parkquin) has recently paid almost $3,000 dollars for a complete 1950 Bowman baseball set, $2,200 for 61 Diamond Stars and $8,200 for a partial set of Goudeys. So, it is not like the buyer doesn't know anything about cards. |

The sellers screen name is "rjdavis1998". On his other auction for about 5 Mantle cards, there was a high bidder, brand new to ebay yesterday, with the screen name "edavis0914". With about two minutes left, this high bidder has his bid cancelled. Hey, why win your own item right? Then, literally 1 second after the cancellation, someone else bid. He would have gotten more money for it. Looking at some of his past auctions, he seems to have a couple of playstation 2's to sell. On two of his past auctions, identities were kept private and all of them had brand new bidders on his auctions just hiking that price up. |

Maybe the high bidder knows something we don't know and is trying to corner the market on the reprint. |
