Default Babe Ruth Opinions Needed

To me, this isn't an example that is 100% typical but I think it looks good. Comes from an autograph book where some of the others that I know are definitely good. The Ruth just doesn't seem typical enough to give it my complete stamp of approval.

Thanks Richard. That's what I was afraid of. Something about it just doesn't seem right but I can't put my finger on it. There are some other very nice signatures in the album but obviously the Ruth is the crown jewel. I would be bidding against others who believe the Ruth to be genuine so no way that would make it worth my while.

Many many thanks.

Not just "ghost-signed," but signed by Claire.

I thought Claire as well David but wanted to see your opinion first. Thanks to yours and a few others around here my "Ruth" identification has greatly improved. Was this the period when Claire helped him out with fan mail due to his declining health? If for nothing more than to help with the large mail request volumes?

Yes, Mike. He was ill in '47, and received a lot of fan mail/well wishes.
