Default Pin Pickup

Hello,

I thought you button guys may like this one. I've seen the Giants one but until I got lucky and stumbled onto this, had never seen the Yankees variation...

Default Woodcut

Nice Woodcut, but it looks like Becket mispelled his name on the label.

Thanks, that spelling is actually how it appeared in the newspaper. For some reason, Murnane's name is mispelled about ten times more often than it was spelled correctly within print media of that time period.

Default The Catch

Purchased this from my best friend who is consolidating his collection. The story of the catch is well known and what I like about this one is that it's colorized which gives it a vintage feel. My buddy had the 16x20 signed by Mays and took it with him to Arizona to a framer that does really good work. Turns out that the other part of the story that isn't as well known is that Joe Garagiola is the bald headed guy that can be seen in one of the centerfield windows (he had been traded to the Giants during the last month of the season but didn't make the WS roster). Joe lives in Arizona and turns out to be a friend of our framer. He was nice enough to get is signed by him (hard to see in this picture but he's drawn an arrow in silver sharpie and under it he signed "that's me, Joe Garagiola".
I haven't seen too many of these around.

Im not a fan of Mays, but love that Polo Grounds litho.

This gamble., A cheap, *cringe* laminated photo of Ruth pitching in '33, may actually be a type1. However, Murphy's Law will determine that it's an old White Castle placemat.

First Spalding autograph model 1908-1925 era I've added to my collection in 2 years. 45 down and 11 to go. I also picked up a great Pirates knit. It's from 1970-1972. The Pirates were the first team to wear knits in 1970.
