Question about T206 Price Curve
Posted By: Jared
I've been religiously tracking the final ebay auction prices of some of the more recognizable players (Cobb, Mathewson, etc.) for two months, and I've noticed that the price curve really levels out after an SGC 40/50 (or equivalent). In other words, everyone seems to be paying the same amount regardless if the condition is SGC 10, 20, 30, or 40. Is this normal? Do collectors generally consider any popular T206 worse than "VG" equal? |

Question about T206 Price Curve
Posted By: peter chao
In the lower grades, people are more concerned about the appearance of the card and the condition of other cards in their collection. There are many people who collect T206 in PSA 2 to PSA 4. So when a PSA 3 is auctioned, people are much more concerned with the appearance of the card and will be willing to pay more for a card that presents well. So it is quite possible that a nice PSA 2 will go for more than a PSA 3 that does not present well. |

the top players in the T206 get a lot of attention in any grade - so sometimes you will see prices end similar for Hall of Famers. |
