Despite my many collecting interests, my largest player collection is of Jari Kurri with over a thousand unique items (and since I'm a bit of a hoarder probably fifteen hundred or more overall). A fan from the early '80s, despite an extensive collection, this one has eluded me since the beginning. A fine Finnish gentleman ran this one down for me in trade for a rare Finnish issue of another player. I have dealt with so many Europeans, especially Finns, over the years in the building of my collection and they have been amazing people to deal with. I have only seen a very few of these ever, so acquiring this one is exciting and a key addition to my collection. Thought I'd show it here as it is a lesser seen item.
*(my apologies Irv, I know you've seen it elsewhere)

1978-79 Finnish SM-Liiga Jari Kurri

Thanks Irv, I appreciate that. One of these days I'll do a European only Kurri show, would be fun just to dig it all out haha.

Some recent additions that all arrived together again today.
Unfortunately, I don't think I will be keeping the Larry Robinson as it arrived not as described due to a fairly large noticeable crease in the bottom left corner that goes through to the back. (It wasn't noticeable in the scan nor much in this screw down but is clearly visible out of it)

That's a nice little mix. Love the Lafontaine especially. Tough luck on the Robinson, that's frustrating, hope you can find a nice one. Was never a big fan of that 73/74 set until I ran across a real nice lot I couldn't pass up, now I'm a few cards away from a second set haha.

I've had some sh*t luck lately in this regard. This, I believe, is my 3rd "not as described" card I have received in the past 4-6 months.
I recently went through another headache with a dealer from B.C., who, when I asked for his total shipping cost, replied with, "4 flat rate"?
I kindly asked him what that meant exactly but didn't get a reasonable reply so I walked.
Lots of new ebay sellers so some shenanigans shouldn't be surprising from time to time I suppose but the guy from B.C. had a large feedback score so I'm not sure what he was up to?

I thought I had noticed that you had that happen more than once recently. I'm a big Kellogg's collector, and you just have to throw condition descriptions out the window almost with those. If its not a great pic and I can't be sure, I pass. There are a couple of solid Kellogg guys I tend to do repeat business with. Hope your luck improves.

As I dive back into collecting I want to fill out a couple of my favorite players from childhood. Plus I wanted to buy a PSA and KSA for a low price, hold them, and compare them with my own two eyes. These sure look good to me and very similar and they both came this week.

Excited to contribute to the site.

Time to find some more cards.

Very nice. Two great ones there, can't go wrong with Lafleur, but I especially like the Perreault. Have a small little PC of him going. Enjoy the search for your next additions.

Thank you, sir! I’ve enjoyed looking at your collection. The internet makes shopping easier in many ways but I do miss hitting up stores and card shows to find the right card. And hockey card shopping deep in the heart of Texas will prove to be interesting!

Thanks, Rob, but it hasn't, unfortunately.

Just had to have eBay intervene and repay me due to another seller jerking me around by not sending me a card.
I also received, today, yet another card that wasn't as described, or the same card that was in the sellers scans.
It is a Pierre Turgeon RC. The scanned card was perfectly centered and had the obvious OPC rough cut. The card I received today was OC like 70/30 and had very clean cuts.
At least in this case the seller is going to try to correct it as he said he had about 10 of these and said he likely just put the wrong card in the wrong mailer? (We'll see?)
The seller of my Larry Robinson RC refunded me 50% of the total cost, including shipping, which I agreed with so at least that one didn't turn out too bad.

Anyways, these arrived today on time, and without issue, so maybe things are looking up?
Just a mishmash of cards with a bit of a lean towards Fleury who I have been purchasing lately. (more on the way)

Look what showed up yesterday:

I can't seem to find the post now but I thought this was stolen out of my mailbox last year. It showed as delivered but I had nothing. Apparently it was delivered to a neighbor who marked it as wrong address and gave it back to the postal worker. Must've been kicking around the local post office for five months. Made my day.

Great news, Adam.

That card has increased nicely in value since your purchase so it's a double great day.

Nicely centered 67 Orr with no white dot near his right knee pad and no white specs in the purple background (or whatever color that is).

I have a 67 Orr without the white dot or white specs also. It is
a higher quality card in my opinion.

Great pick up. Was it ebay ? Sorry I missed it. That's one I would have
bought to get signed.

Very nice sheet. Looks like Richard, Mahovlich, and Howe.

At first I was going to say "Howe" could they print a sheet with Gordie shooting left handed ? Then I remembered that Gordie would actually go to his left hand sometimes in games when he needed to.

Looks like Geoffrion, Bower and Barilko round out the five hockey scenes.

Hi Winston

I hope all is well.
I believe those glasses were issued in 1984-85 and I know of at least 13.
(Bell, Hunter, Gosselin, Goulet, Gillis, Bouchard, Savard, Marois, A Stastny, P Stastny, M Stastny, the Stastny brothers and one other)
I could not tell you what constitutes a complete set though.
Hope this info helps.

That actually helps a lot. I was talking with Bobby and he was not familiar with the set so he could not help me with much information. TTYS and stay safe.

I started putting together the '70-'71 OPC Deckle Edge set, and I've been enjoying the chase. I'm picking up the commons for between $2 and $5 which makes for some affordable fun.
I've also been trying for some of the '69-'70 OPC Mini Card Albums, but I keep getting outbid. I did purchase this low grade example for $7.92 with a slightly trimmed Bobby Orr.

A couple arrivals today that I have wanted for a while now. (Both OPC)
They're not perfect but they're perfectly acceptable to me.

interesting how there is a period after Phil on the Esposito Line card. As if an abbreviation for Phillip. I don’t ever recall seeing it done on any of his other issues, either Topps or OPC in years before or since. I wonder why they did just one card?

Same. I had a little trouble finding one centered for the price I wanted to pay but this one, although not perfect, was pretty hard to pass up.

Most likely an uncorrected error I assume?

New arrival today.
Ebay told me I had to spend my eBay bucks so I decided to purchase this ORR OPC All Star card that I had in my watch list.
Another fairly tough card to find centered so this one, although not perfect, fit the bill.
