Default Anyone win any of the STAMPED E90-1 cards from PWCC?

PWCC had a real nice collection of E90-1 for sale...

Most had MK designation from PSA, but looked very nice for the grades.

here is one I won....was wondering what E collectors thought about this stamp

most were stamped JULY 10 1910. I was bidding on most because I thought this to be the most acceptable type of MK.

I sold a bunch of these recently that were stamped like that except mine were SGC 3's. That is the PSA 5 (MK) equivalent because SGC doesn't give qualifiers. The commons didn't sell for very much. Between $10-$30. The HOFers did a little better.

would love to know where you sold these because I missed them...
I would never have let sgc 30's go for under $30...

You can look under my completed listings. I just picked one at random. That one sold for $40. I have others....

Looking back, I think the majority were graded SGC Authentic. I'm at work so I can't really peruse my old auctions like I want to. The cheapest one went for $5......not too bad for a graded Caramel card!

I picked up this Clarke from that group of auctions. I believe it's trimmed on the left side. And a pretty good trim job if so. I agree with you about backstamps. To me they are not a negative at all. Some of my favorite cards in my collection have period backstamps and appear EX in every other way. I wouldn't have been able to afford them without the backstamp, which I find cool.

Default Hmm

I wonder if these cards all came for the same collection....

I wonder if the collector stamped them himself (must have bought cases of caramel candy that day)

Or I wonder if it was from a store, or from the factory?

Any ideas? Interesting how none of these July 10 stamped cards are beaters!

I would guess they were all found in the same collection. Mine has that really bright look that makes you think it has been stored away in a dark place for a long time. Who stamped them is a great question. My best guess would be that the owner of the shop stamped them. Or maybe a young collector got his hands on them and stamped them. I'm sure some of these were never issued to customers, and instead given to the kids of the shop owner, caramel salesman, etc. I'm also interested in the fact that they are all "Authentic". I know SGC will give a numerical grade to a card with a backstamp, so are they trimmed? Mine does appear short left-to-right, but it isn't an obvious trim. Does anyone have one that shows an obvious trim? If they were all trimmed just slightly, I wonder why?

The fact that some were graded by SGC and some by PSA is also interesting. You would think that if they were purchased from one collector, the buyer would've sent them all to either PSA or SGC. Maybe these cards have been floating around the hobby for awhile. It would be interesting to hear if anyone has seen this grouping of cards previously, and if there are any other issues with the same backstamp.

if they were floating around for a while, I think we would have seen one before this last month or so...

The SGC cards seemed to be correctly graded auth being trimmed, but the PSA don't seem to be trimmed...both are all very clean cards, strong for the assigned grades. A great collection (at one point) now in the hands of us collectors. Would be great to learn the provenance of these!

The stamping seems to have been applied AFTER the back damage occurred on this one....

Here are some links to the others I had....

I won the Home Run Baker.
I like the stamps a lot. I actually wish the one I won had one...

My mom's birthday 29 years later maybe?

... Or Jose Canseco's 54 years later?
