Have you ever experienced the same feeling?

Recently, I was on Ebay looking through some auctions. While viewing some t206s, I saw two cards that I had previously owned. I had sold these cards a few months ago. Do you ever feel the same enjoyment when running across some cards you've previously owned? Wondered where they've gone? Wondered how far they've traveled? It's a unique feeling.

Get the feeling quite a bit. Once you have been in the hobby a while and sold a fair amount (if you do) it becomes somewhat of a regular occurence. If it was in my collection I might feel like you described. For ones I had just to sell, not so much (of course). take care

I agree! Well, it's pretty interesting and exciting for me because I do not do too much selling. I sell cards here and there, but not too often. When you go on Ebay, and see how many listings are ending each day, it's not too often for someone like myself to find my previously owned cards. I was pretty happy

It's neat to see the few I've sold pop back up, occasionally Ill think about bringing them back home. I also like knowing the previous owners of my cards and their travels.

Ive started a "formally owned by Pete Ullman" collection, I'm up to three....a RH came from him, a BL off eBay and a Drum via another board member. From reading his thoughts on T206s, nostalgia is not high on the list

This has never happened to me. So this tells me one of three things.

1. I haven't sold enough cards for it to happen yet
2. I've just missed the listings if they were ever out there
3. What I'd like to believe. The cards I have sold went to folks who really wanted them for their personal collections and they are sitting in happy homes and won't be moving any time soon.

Never done it with cards, but what is really gratifying is seeing something that you sold previously offered at a price lower than what you sold it for, buying it again, and then selling it a second time, still for a higher price

I haven't sold much that's recognizable.

A handful of rare and interesting cards I traded away in the late 70's I wouldn't mind seeing again or having a shot at buying them back.

What's cooler to me is having stuff bought for a museum or public display.
I had a batch of china from statler hotels, and one buyer bought all of it, odd since reatauraunt china collectors don't usually go for more than a placesetting, maybe 4. This was about 75 pieces. The buyer was a hotel manager of a former Statler hotel that was being renovated. Part of the renovation was a huge lobby display of Statler memorabilia. Including a whole bunch of china some guy in Ma rescued from a back corner of an antique shop that was closing.

I sold a few other pieces to small museums, maybe 5 in all. The only other one I recall was the Experience music project in Seattle, who bought a few indie 45's

A year or 2 ago I sold a 1941 Play Ball Ted Williams PSA Auth (or PSA 1) on ebay for around $200. A few months later I bought it back for $150. I just couldn't resist a buy it now $50 less than I had sold it. I later sold it again for around $200.

I was very surprised to see a photo I once owned show up in the recent Legendary 'Kent Feddeman' Washington Senators collection. Even though I still collect that stuff, and actually wondered what had happened to it, I didn't bid.

To me, re-owning stuff is like re-dating an ex-gf or moving back to a city you left. Or even more horrible, re-marrying the same woman
