Your favorite card...is it Love now lost?

I fancy myself (I should just stop this sentence here, no?) as a guy who doesn't get too far into the heavy issues here, as I can't afford to, for the most part. |

I think "the" favorite card changes from time to time. I guess the card which is presently my favorite is an exmt T207 Lowdermilk with red Cycle back. That haunting image on the card makes it great, so great that I just recently purchased a framed print with accompanying autograph of Lowdermilk matted with the picture. |

Interesting question. I still own my favorite card (t227 cobby), though I cant say that I wouldnt ever sell it. I will also admit that there are a bunch of cards out there that could very easily become my favorite card - I actually love the e93 matty, but my own copy of the card is not going to catapult it to number 1 because IMO that is one card that just needs to be higher grade to truly appreciate. Sadly mine is only a 40. Jim B's violet e94 young also comes to mind |

The bad thing about having a boatload of stuff is that it takes up a lot of space...an entire room plus 1/4 of the garage. However, there is a plus side, I have plenty of stuff to trade and I try to avoid trading away anything significant to my collection. |

My favorite cards will always and forever be my favorites and they will someday go to my son who I hope will keep them and pass them down too. They were given to me by my dad a few years before he died. |

Since I am a type collector and have been very fortunate to get some really rare cards (imo) it would be hard to pick one. I guess the FBH would be it if I had to choose only one. I was looking at the gem mint photo on my N690 National Phili team card yesterday and it almost could be. I hope I am able to keep them until I sell my collection as it would take a little bit of the steam out of me to get rid of them....but then there's the t231 and Bishop team cards...and the AWA caramel..or the Red Cross Weaver....or the....yes, I am hopelessly addicted....maybe we should really start a cardolholics anonymous program....?? |

T206 Cobbs, bat on and bat off. Got them both as the same time when I was a kid, and still vividly remember all the cirucmstances surrounding it and getting them home. Still have them. Can't say they are my all time favorites but certainly my feelings about them are. |

My true favourite is the first 'older' card i bought, a 58' Aaron. The most important to my heart was given to me by my wife and could never be sold....this 52' Mantle. |

I sold my all time favorite card. Does that mean I lost love for it? Absolutely not. I just felt at the time I had to act on a deal that I couldnt pass up. Will I re purchase one in the near future? Only if I sell some more to finance the purchase, I robbed Peter ( no not Peter Chaoism) to pay Paul. Here's my sale and my purchase. |

Yes Joseph, the Phillies card is the key. But the Washington card is important too, and a St. Louis. It is a three card set. |

I own my two favorites. The m101-5 Thorpe, because I've always been a huge Thorpe fan and was never able to get one in the 80s and my e92 Nadja Rebel Oakes. There isn't a better looking card in the hobby and my example has exceptional color. |

My favorite card that I own I guess would be the N28 Cap Anson (sorry, no scan). I started collecting in 1982 and saw those Dover reprint books with the N28s and fell in love with them. As an 11 year-old kid I dreamed of owning the card, or just owning a card from the set. Heck, even thought I would never even see real card from the set. The Anson wasn't the 1st card I owned from the set though, Jake Kilrain, boxer was the 1st, included in collection that I bought. The first baseball players I owned were the Kelly and Comiskey, purchased in a single deal from Kit Young (thanks Kit). I now have the complete 50-card set and it is probably my favorite all-time set. |

mine is an e121 series of 120 Elmer Miller. He is a distant relative and played center field for the Yankees 1915 to 1922. Played in the 1921 world series. Still have the card and look at it daily. |
