Default brooks robinson rookie card

I am looking at possibly picking up a brooks robinson rookie card. Anyone care to give me some advice when it comes to shopping for this card? Im looking to go no higher then a psa 7.

What characteristics of the card should I be looking for? Im a pre war collector mostly but a die hard os fan.

With the 57's the level of "snow" white print spots on the cards doesn't always show up on the grade but effects price/eye appeal.

Thanks for the info. It helps considering I dont know much about this set.

A search on ebay shows a 7 has sold from anywhere to $600 to $650. Does that seem about right?

Default '57 Brooks Robinson

That's about right. According to VCP (vintagecardprices.com), PSA 7's have sold anywhere from $450 to $775 since late 2013 with most in the $600-$650 range. The lower dollar prices were generally for those cards with poor centering (despite the PSA 7 designation). The $775 price tag was an anomoly in my opinion (it looked like a 9). Only two SGC examples in the exact same grade have sold in 2014, and they were $480 and $429 respectively, and both had slight left-to-right centering issues.

Hope this helps. Here's my raw example, which has some paper loss on back, rendering it a G/VG, despite the great-looking front. I got this one for a little under $200:

Default Brooks Robinson

As a Brooksie fan as far as the obvious centering and good corners, to me, there is the focus and the color on his rookie card that can tend to be an issue.

Here is mine....pretty happy with it - paid about $350 for it earlier this year. As with most scans, it looks way better in hand.
