Default SGC Crossover Question for 48 Leaf Jackie

Hey all! First post. What are your thoughts on this PSA 6 MC, should I just keep it as a 6 mc or crossover to SGC? I don’t know if I want to sell it but that mc seems to really hurt it’s value. What do you think SGC would grade this?

Tough to tell with the small images but it really depends on your goals. If it is strictly for valuation, I would leave it in the PSA holder. Registry collectors would probably want it even with the qualifier. The back appears to be really OC so not sure how you are thinking SGC would help?. My guess is you will get a 4 if it is really clean. So really just splitting hairs for virtually the same valuation..(I still think PSA will be worth more)...

Oops, these may be better pics.

Yea on the front there's a black line on top from the card that was above and the back followed suit.

Before they switched to the black label last year, SGC was known for being fairly lenient on centering. However, recently, they have become much more strict on centering. Therefore, I would leave this one in the PSA holder.

Value wise it's probably negligible. I think it would look better in an SGC slab, but that's just me. A very hot card either way.

+1. I had an SGC submission back this summer where a '69 Pete Rose that I thought had a chance at a 7 came back a 5. It slowly dawned on me that centering was the only real plausible reason for this. No way SGC was that strict even a few years ago. The T/B centering on the card was maybe 75/25 - well within the standard for at least a 6 with PSA.

I have a 7MC cut that was pretty OC in the front. I wanted it in a Hiller that would only describe the qualities if the card, bot the centering. Sgc called and said they would grade it a 2! Mind you it had all the qualities of a NM card. Sans centering.

Default Leaf Jackie Robinson

Very cool card! I enjoyed a very similar looking example until about a year ago.
