Default another M101-5 fake on ebay

I wrote to the guy but got no response, and the auction is still going. The rest of his cards seem to be real so I guess he doesn't realize, but it's pretty crappy for him to leave this auction running after being informed--

I know it gets tedious to see all these ebay fake threads, but I thought it might be good for any newer lurkers/posters to see exactly what these M101 fakes look like, since they show up so often.

For anyone who might not know, here is a genuine M101-5. Check the auction and compare to this one. The easiest giveaway is the distance between the black box enclosing the photo and the edge of the photo, which is much wider on the fakes.

Tim, I beleive that this seller DOES know that this if a fake. If you look at his other auctions the cards have nice clear scans. Why doesn't this card image have the same clarity as his other cards?

I never get tired of the "fake ebay" threads. It good to identify fake cards and crooked sellers.

Rick

Tim and Rick,

I believe that the seller (Ebay ID: bgspsa1) of this fake M101-5 is a board member that goes by the name of Dylan (Net54 Login: EcardCollector).

Here's another example:

I have to admit I put this up a year or two ago on eBay not realizing it was a fake. It did not sell.

The seller does appear to be a semi-regular poster. Maybe he is away or something, and hasn't seen my note. I can't believe he would want to throw away his vintage-card reputation on a card that wouldn't sell for more than $25 even if it were real.

As I look at the scan in the ebay auction more closely, I see that this is a Frisch reprint, which has the word "Reprint" in the bottom right hand corner-- on this card that has been scraped away. Which still doesn't mean this seller is being deceptive, but still... it's a bad auction!

Dylan, are you out there? Have you seen the posts about your card?
