Default Spiderman's first sighting in Seattle...

Hi all,

Wanted to share my most recent ticket from a few weeks ago. This stub is from the May, 25 1991 Mariners vs Rangers game in the Kingdome. To the casual fan, this is an unmemorable early season clash but to Griffey Jr. fans, one of his finest plays. In the top of the 5th with a 1-1 count and 2 outs, Rueben Sierra of Texas, hit a towering flyball to the 380 mark in centerfield, Griffey got on his horse to track it down. Leaping up to snag the ball out of the airconditioned sky of the concrete Kingdome, Griffey slammed into the wall at full speed, bracing himself with his hands and feet, while still holding the out. Miraculously Griffey was unhurt. For a brief second Griffey stuck to the wall like your friendly neighborhood spiderman. In 1995, four years almost to the day Griffey would make a similar catch and break his wrist, missing the next three months of the season as the Mariners fought to stay in Seattle. The catch in 1991 would be known as one of two "Spiderman Catches" over his career.

Time and time again, Griffey scaled great hights to save the Mariners but May 25, 1991 is the day Spiderman visited the Kingdome for the first time.

Nice ticket, I was at that game and the one where he
broke his wrist in 95. I went to the one game play off against the Angels and Mark Langston as well. I wish I had saved that stub.
