Default Resolving an issue with slab being cracked through mail

I bought a PSA slabbed card, for $25, and sent payment via PP gift.
The card came today, packaged pretty well and what I would expect (wrapped in paper, between two pieces of (thinner) cardboard, inside a bubble mailer) but the card in completely cracked from side to side in the front and 2/3 across the back. The card itself looks undamaged, luckily.

I just contacted the seller today, so I'm not calling him out or anything, but I'm hoping that we can work out some type of compromise, as it's neither of our faults that this has happened.

Has anyone had a past experience like this and if so, what has been your resolution. I've had a problem like this occur in the past and without biasing any answers, we easily resolved the problem happily from both sides.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think a fair resolution would be for the seller to reimburse you to re-holder it (I think it's $5) and you to pay for the return shipping to and from PSA.

I do not believe in partial refunds for any reason. So for me it is easy keep the card or return it for full refund.

The seller was really cool about giving me money to have it reslabbed.
